Windows Deployment PXE Server

Problem:

  • Printers are taking too long to connect to the network and register to other systems.
  • Printing rules and permissions are not specified in the actual infrastructure.
  • Default printing settings would have to be configured either directly on the printer, or on the workstation machines every single time

SOLUTION:

  • Hyper-V Virtualized Windows Server running as Domain Controller on the network
  • Domain Controller is configured with DHCP, and DNS in order for proper connection to Domain
  • Windows Deployment Services (WDS) publish a Windows 11 WIM File gathered via Deployment Workbench, as WDS does not natively support Windows 11
  • Drivers, applications, and restrictions can also be applied to the image in Deployment Workbench
